Scoopy Doo Excavation

By accepting our estimates or agreeing to hire us you accept these terms and work detail unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

Work detail, what to expect:

  • Equipment Load-out: We will require a place to load and unload the excavator and equipment. Typically we drop off the excavator and store the trailer back at our shop. For small jobs (short duration) we may ask if we can store the trailer at your location. When the excavator is unloaded there may be some scuffing or disturbance to the ground or road. We prefer to not load on a public road.

  • Equipment Storage: During the work we will need a place to store excavator attachments like buckets and mower attachments. These are pretty heavy items and not easy to move around. We would prefer they be out of site from public locations.

  • Access to our equipment: We service the excavator daily usually at the end of the work day. We will require access to the excavator by pickup so it can be refueled daily. If this is not possible we can use a side by side to transport fuel. We may ask for a location to securely store the side by side.

  • Equipment Maintenance: For long jobs (multiple weeks at a time) we may take the excavator back to the shop for maintenance before the job is complete. This typically needs to be done every two to three weeks. The shredder attachment creates a lot of vibration and stress on the excavator and requires extra inspection and maintenance to maintain safe reliable operation. There is no cost to you for this time and we will let you know when we are going to pull the equipment out of the field. We may need to order parts or perform repairs that can extend the amount of time before we return.

  • Noise: When the excavator is shredding trees and branches it makes a very loud noise that may disturb neighbors or children. Please let your neighbors know we will be working and causing loud noise.

  • Debris: The shredder can throw debris hundreds of feet. We make our best effort to minimize this but it will still happen. You may see chunks of wood a couple of hundred feet away from the work location. It is very important to stay clear (300’ away) when the excavator and shredder are running. The shredder will leave some branches and logs on the ground. We will do our best to slide or push them out of the way but some will still be in the path when we are complete.

  • Additional work: As we work we often discover additional items you might want to have addressed. This can range from wash outs, broken tiles or large trees that should be removed. We will point this out as we find them and create an additional quote to address them if you like. Often they can be knocked out while we have the equipment there on-site.

Terms:

  • Safety: The excavator is extremely dangerous when the shredder is running or moving. Do not approach the excavator unless the operator sees you and shuts it down to idle. Stay 300’ back from the excavator when it is running. If you see something unsafe please let the operator know. If we are working close to your neighbors please let them know about these safety terms.

  • Estimates: Our estimates are not commitments, they are intended to be guidelines to give you an idea of possible cost. If you prefer to not have us spend all the time estimated please let the operator know. That will not be a problem and you will not be billed for any unused time. We will not go over the estimated time without permission. Please note if we are not charging for travel we require a minimum of 8 hours of billable work.

  • Payment: We typically bill on a weekly basis at the beginning of a job and may go to every two weeks after that. We can provide a weekly report of hours and cost so you can manage your budget. We bill based on machine hours. If the machine is not running you're not being billed. We do not bill for the time the machine runs during daily maintenance.

  • Advertisement: We do little advertisement and rely on word of mouth from satisfied customers. We may ask if it is okay to place a yard sign at your job.

  • Website and social media: We may use pictures of your job to show before and after shots of our work. We may also use our drone (we have an FAA licensed drone operator) to take before and after pictures. We will make a best effort to not show structures like a barn or house in detail. These pictures may be posted on our Facebook page or web site. We will not use your name or give the location.

  • Fence: Often we encounter old fence rows and corner post and make our best effort to not disturb them. However, branches may fall and cause damage or they may be hidden in the brush and tore out by our excavator. If we damage them we will let you know but are not responsible for repairing gates, fence, or post. These fence rows may be on a property-line and it is your responsibility to let your neighbor know these terms and we will be working on the shared tree line.

  • CRP encroachment: Although we make every effort to address your CRP encroachment our treatment is best effort work, and may or may not meet the FSA and USDA’s land management requirements. Scoopy Doo Excavation is not a representative of the USDA / FSA or any government agency and therefor cannot determine if treatments meet CRP Land management requirements.
